How to Set Up IPTV on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad

Apple's App Store is the only installation route on Apple TV and iOS, which actually makes setup simpler than on Android, not harder.

Apple TV, iPhone and iPad all install apps the same way: from the App Store, and nowhere else. Apple does not permit sideloading on any of these devices, which removes an entire category of decision that Android users have to make. You are not choosing between the store and a sideloaded APK — there is only the store, which makes this one of the simplest platforms to set up correctly.

Installing a player on Apple TV

Open the App Store app on your Apple TV, search for an established IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes login, and install it directly. Several well-maintained players are listed there. Once installed, open it, choose Xtream Codes if you have a server address, username and password, or M3U if you were given a single playlist URL, and enter your credentials using the Siri Remote or the Apple TV Remote app on your phone, which is considerably faster for typing than the physical remote's directional pad.

Installing on iPhone and iPad

The process is identical: App Store, search, install, open, log in. A player installed on your iPhone can also mirror to an Apple TV via AirPlay if you want to watch on the television without installing a separate app there, though a native Apple TV app will generally give smoother full-screen playback than mirroring does.

If your preferred player is not in the App Store

Occasionally a specific player available on Android is not on iOS, usually because of Apple's stricter review process for apps that handle user-supplied streaming URLs. If this happens, the practical fix is to pick a different, equally capable player that is listed — there is no supported workaround on Apple platforms, and any tool claiming to sideload apps on a non-jailbroken Apple TV or iPhone should be treated with real suspicion. Apple's own Apple TV setup guide is the authoritative reference for anything specific to your tvOS version.

Xtream Codes or M3U on Apple devices

Both login methods work identically well on tvOS and iOS. If you are unsure which to use, the comparison between the two explains the practical difference. We send both with every MOM IPTV account, so you can switch between apps without needing new credentials.

Common playback issues on Apple hardware

Apple TV and recent iPhones and iPads handle HD and 4K IPTV streams comfortably, so stuttering on these devices is almost always a network issue rather than a hardware one. Work through the buffering checklist in order — a wired connection via an Ethernet adapter on Apple TV, where you have one, is the single most effective fix if Wi-Fi congestion is the cause.
